Biography:

After working for McKinsey in the U.S. and seven international companies in Japan, Emi co-founded a global event management startup, Peatix.com, in 2011. Since 2016, Emi has focused on education to foster conversations on reimagining our education to better equip children with future-ready skills and competencies. Emi has been promoting critical discussions on the future of education by leveraging the film as a catalyst for rich conversations. And in 2019, Emi launched "Learn by Creation," a two-day conference where 2,500 people gathered to learn and talk about the future of education. Learn by Creation now hosts events and teacher training programs nationally and regionally. In July 2020, Emi released a book titled "The New Elite - What Competencies Do We Want to Nurture for Children to Survive the Chaotic Era?" (Nihon Keizai Shimbun Publishing), which became the best seller among July new releases in Amazon.co.jp Education book category.

 Emi serves as a member of the UNESCO Japan Committee and a School Operation Committee member of Omiya Middle High School. Emi holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Keio University, a master's degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and a master's degree in international business from the University of Pennsylvania.
